Im going to consider this to be a research article on Turmeric that you and I can both reference to from time to time because lets face it, I don’t have a P.h.d in the study of herbs or roots, in fact I am about as qualified as every other blogger to give dietary advice…but like any other millennial, I possess a natural talent of finding things out via the internet and you guys know I wouldn’t lead you down a bad path. 

During my time in India the one word I heard daily was “turmeric”. I have seen it before being mentioned in a few wellness articles but in India they are next level about it. Turmeric has been used in India for thousands of years as a medicinal herb and is also responsible for giving curry its yellow colour.

So I take to the internet as we all do when we want instant knowledge on something we know nothing about and I find that turmeric is taking its rightful turn in the spotlight for its long list of medicinal uses.

Natural anti-inflammatory
Natural antibiotic
Improves digestive health
Increases antioxidant capacity
Lowers cholesterol
Promotes brain health
Eases symptoms of coughs and colds
Boosts immunity
Eases symptoms of arthritis
So much more!

I found this article to be super informative.

Now i’m not going to make claims or promise you that turmeric will turn you into some kind of super human with superior health, but I can tell you from my research that its a pretty damn good spice to include in your every day wellness routine. 


Here is how I have been including it in my wellness routine.

What you need:

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vanilla soy milk
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
Grated ginger to taste
Cinnamon to taste

The method is simple:

Put all ingredients into a pot and simmer, do not allow the mixture to boil. Whisk until it starts to foam, pour into a mug an enjoy. 


I don’t want to overcomplicate the process, it takes less than 2 minutes to make and if i’m on the go ill just mix it all together in a mug with water from the kettle instead. Less fancy and not as Pinterest worthy but still effective.

There are endless ways to consume turmeric, a quick google search will show an abundance of recipes and ideas, I am yet to experiment further.
